Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the world's best maple bats.
What makes Sam Bat maple superior to ash bats?
Maple is a denser, harder wood than ash, providing less flex and more power. Our professional-grade maple is specifically selected to prevent flaking and provide a harder hitting surface for maximum exit velocity.
How long does it take to ship a custom bat order?
Custom bats are handcrafted to your exact specifications. Current production time is typically 3 to 4 weeks, followed by your selected shipping method's transit time.
Do you offer a warranty on your bats?
Due to the nature of the sport, wood bats do not come with a standard longevity warranty. However, we stand by our craftsmanship and will review any claims regarding manufacturing defects within 30 days of purchase.
How can I find the right turn model for my swing?
Our most popular model is the KB1, but we offer various barrel diameters and handle tapers. We recommend checking our 'Bat Selection Guide' to compare balance points and knob styles based on your hitting profile.
Can I use my maple bat in cold weather?
Wood becomes more brittle in temperatures below 50°F (10°C). If playing in cold weather, we recommend keeping your bats indoors until use and avoiding the use of high-compression 'weighted' balls.
Is the 'Ink Dot' test included on all bats?
Yes, all of our professional-grade maple bats undergo the slope-of-grain ink dot test to ensure they meet the rigorous safety and quality standards required for Big League play.
